I am arriving on a Cruise. Not sure where the ship will dock but if it is Havensight how far is it to the ferry at Crown Bay do we need a taxi or is it walkable? From the dock on Water Island how far is a good beach & can we easily walk there? We wouldn't want to walk for more than 20 -25 mins in the heat carrying gear. We are trying to avoid the crowds and Cruise organized outings.

If it's Crown Bay, you're golden. Just walk out of the cruise ship fenced area and find Tickles restaurant. The Water Island ferry is in a slip right next to Tickles. Havensite - take a taxi to Crown Bay Marina. Honeymoon beach is just a short walk from the Water Island ferry landing.

Thanks for the web link. Does anyone know if Honeymoon Beach is good for snorkeling?

The snorkeling is great! Honeymoon Beach is a large white sand beach on the lee side of the island, where the waters are calm most of the time. Please report back here, after your visit, on what you see on your "under the sea" quest.

I and friends have snorkeled off of Honeymoon Beach. It's an excellent beach for novice and even other more experienced snorklers, it's a fun snorkel. If you go straight out, there is white sand and sea grass...not much marine life. But, if you go left or go right and out around those points, you'll see marine life, sea turtle and some cool stuff. Again, it's a calm snorkel. It's not like going to the Indians or off some other beaches. But, if you want to relax or teaching a child or novice to snorkel, hard to beat Honeymoon Beach/Water Island for that.
