Can you drink the water on st john or does every one drink bottle water , if so is it really exp.
From the many posts I have read on water - some people buy bottled water and some don't. It's not like Mexico where you HAVE to drink bottled water.
Some people buy bottled water for ANY trip. People I know that have been there said it's OK to drink but might not taste great.

Hello Yolanda,
Depends on where you are at... Most home owners drink their tap water and bottled water. Villa owners will tell you if they suggest drinking or not drinking their tap water. The water in homes is not city water - we collect rain water via the roof and store it in cisterns. So if the property owner keeps the roof and cistern clean then the water is good for drinking. Hotels will usually post signs if the water is not good for drinking. In restaurants - its fine ( I say that because I remember a friend said when I went to Mexico drink tequilla after every meal to kill anything that might have been in the water they cooked the food with.) In any case overall the water is fine for drinking. You should definately bring bottles of water with you in your back pack or beach bag when you go hiking or to the beach.
