Hello,

Any recommendations out there for good places to have drinks or a meal and watch the ships leaving port without getting into the traffic mess? Thanks so much!

I'm sorry, I'm just a Stj novice. From any of the two facilities. It's just fun sometimes to view the departure. I heard the biggest cruise ship was in port today and couldn't find any recommendations online where to go. With 15k extra people on the island I did not want to go right into the fray. Thanks so much.

On St Thomas, I like the harbor pool bar at Frenchman's Reef. You can toast the passengers on ships leaving Havensight , and you can see the ones leaving Crown Bay pretty well.

At the Mafolie hotel - the pool deck or the restaurant are spectacular for viewing both docks. Victors Hideout is really good for the Crown Bay Facility - Paradise Point for the Havensite dock - anywhere up at Bluebeards is a good view of Havensite.

If you are staying on the east end of the Island Route 30 passed Havensight Mall, I would go to the Marriott Hotel - Harbor pool bar. The view of Charlotte Amailia is wonderful and you can almost touch the ships as the depart the harbor. We have a timeshare at Bluebeards Beach Club and also watch the arrivals and departures from the beach, However, for a nice relaxing cocktail and a great view of the Sunset try the Marriott.

Here's a view from Paradise Point as the ships ready to depart. The fore ground is Haven Site and above and to the left is Crown Bay.
