It might be hard to rent a car from a private individual because their car insurance doesn't cover them renting their car to some stranger/friend. Unless they somehow skirt around it. You can post over in the Relocation Message Board. You might find better help there.
What about if I have full coverage that covers any vehicle I'm driving? ... Just wondering and I have posted there also. But thanks for the advice 🙂
I doubt you would find an individual to accept this plan. Even if you have full coverage the car owner could be held legally liable if you were involved in a lawsuit resulting from an accident you had with the vehicle. Also an insurance company is not going to address routine mechanical problems that could occur while you have the vehicle (ie. flat tire) - whose responsiblity would it be to fix (you or the owner)?
I just know other travel nurses who have been here rented off of private owners I thought it was worth a shot. Doesn't hurt to ask 🙂
