I'm looking for a place to stay for 2 couples (late 50's), plus an elderly lady, for a week in June. We are looking for someplace from which it's easy to take long walks on the beach. From what we know, we would prefer St. John, but are not locked in to it.

Any suggestions?

Caneel Bay resort has a nice large propert with about 7 different beaches. It should fulfill your needs if you dont mind the high cost. St. John's beaches are not very long in comparison with other spots, most are bays and coves, although beaches like Trunk Bay are certainly good walking beaches. A villa would be another option for you, but few are actally on a walkable beach.
