Does anyone know how the Vitran bus is for getting around? I will be staying in Concordia. What time does the bus run till?

Also, how is parking on the island? I have heard that Cruz Bay is busy, but how about parking at the other sites on the island? I was thinking about renting a car but didn't know if parking would be an issue at beaches and such.

You will not have any problems finding a spot at the beaches. Cruz Bay is not impossible either, you just need to be patient and ready to park several blocks from your destination.

Parking in Coral bay and the south beaches no problems. You can find parking in Cruz bay, just allow enough time to park and get to your designation. You might have to walk a couple of blocks. Our car rental agency had a lot to park in but I was checking out other areas to park and they are available. Be patient. STJ's map is a good to go by, it identifies the parking areas. The map is free and it's available at the car rental agencies.

So, the bus only runs along Centerline Road? Is there a way to walk to the bus stop from Cinnamon Bay or Maho Bay? Or do you have to take a taxi if you are staying in either of those places?

The bus is easy to pick up from Concordia. Check with registration about when it comes by and make sure you are on the correct side of the road. We caught it several times with no problem.

You can't get it from Maho, not sure about Cinnamon. Fret's runs a shuttle from Maho for $5 one way. He is very dependable and if not available Hamilton takes his place. Hamilton also does shuttle trips for dinner/dancing and snorkeling/lunch for one total price.

Centerline does not take out to Maho or Cinnamon. The North Shore road does. The Vitran only uses only Centerline.
