*Are there casinos in St. Thomas?
No. The only casino in the VI is on St. Croix.
Thanks for the info. Is that a hotel or just a casino? Also can you compare it to Vegas or Reno? Just wondering if we should make the hop from St. Thomas.
The Divi Casino is nice for the Carribean, but cannot compare to anything in Las Vegas.
Linda,
The Divi is a resort/hotel casino complex. About a 20 min drive from C'sted. There is a long stretch of public beach with a snorkeling shack for equipment rental. We were there at night so I'm not sure about food service and drinks and such by the beach...
The casino itself is not like Vegas or Reno. The slots are tough on you and are not the multi game slots of vegas. There were a few progressive machines. It took us maybe 30 min to walk through and use up $100 playing the slots. There are craps and card tables with the popular games. The dealers are a little sloppy. So many things flying that would not fly in Vegas. Seemed like a great place to try weighted dice (LOL), since the craps dealers did not switch out dice after they flew half way across the casino.
I'm not sure if it is all worth the trip to play. I don't think I'd do it myself.
Other than that, if you do an overnight trip to StX and stay there it wouldn't be bad. There is plenty to occupy yourself. Now that I would do, if in the budget.
Hop on Seaborne with an overnighter. Do some am shopping and sightseeing in C'sted. Have some lunch. Grab a cab to the Divi and laze around for a bit on the beach, do some snorkeling, Have some dinner and nap, Grab some drinks and head up to the Casino.
