We are thinkng of doing the New Horizons Trip to the BVI. I noticed it says that there is a $20 customs charge. If we want to just take the ferry to Jost Van Dyke for the day do we have to pay this charge? I'm guessing yes but I wanted to check.

Yes, there is still a customs and immigration charge, regardless of how you visit. New Horzons II is fantastic! Go with them, or try Captain Nautica. Both trips are wonderful!

Thanks for the info. I really do want to go on the New Horizons II trip. Just considering the money.

Tim and Holly (the owners) run a superb trip. Figure a total of about $150 p/p/ for the entire day, inluding lunch and cocktails ashore. Well worth it for that experience...and the Baths will knock your socks off! BEAUTIFUL! If money is a big issue, you might try The Limnos (www.limnoscharters.com). They do a similar trip, but it's a much larger boat, lots of sun and shade, freshwater showers, bathrooms, and they serve a lite breakfast and a full lunch onboard...plus the ever present "open" bar! It's on summer special right now foronly $85 p/p/ + $20 C&I. Whichever trip you decide on, you will certainly enjoy it! Don't forget to tip the crew! Have fun!

I tried emailing Limnos but it came back undeliverable. From their web site it appears that their trips go to either Jost Van Dyke or the Baths, but not both. Anyone go on their trip?

I just tried e-mailing them, also, and it came back...soI called them and she said that she checked mail earlier today and it was working fine. Then I told her to check VINow Message Boards, so she might be posting here very soon. She said that it might be a problem with the server, so you might try again later if she doesn't post.

Just a side note about Limnos..... We called them to take their trip to Jost in early September and the lady on the phone told us that their boat was in dry dock. She said let me make a couple of calls and get back to you on other companies day trips there. I gave her our number and within 15 minutes she called back with other companies numbers for us to try. That's how we found NH2.
Now if that's not customer service we don't know what is.
Have to say that Limnos is a first class operation and can't wait to take their trip to Jost in April.
Bill and Sue.

Still no luck with emailing Limnos. Anybody know what their rates are and if they have a trip that goes to the Baths and Jost Van Dyke?

I don't believe they offer the Baths and Jost on the same trip. The Baths is combined with a stop for snorkeling off Norman Island on the way back. It's a good time and ditto the customer service kudos. They gave us a wake-up call at our villa after we joked about the early (to us) departure time. Then there were a few more reservations than planned so they took two boats instead of one which was nice. Enough people to have a good time but not crowded. To top it off the crew was great. Sorry I don't recall the amount but the trip was two thumbs up.

I dunno why the e-mail thing isn't working, but you can call them at 34-775-3203. And Indy is corroect...the Baths and Jost are not on the same trip. The trip to Vrigin Gorda (Baths) and Norman Island (Caves) is on summer special right now for $85 p/p +$20 for C&I.
