Hi,

My husband, and two of our friends and I are visiting St. Thomas in September. I was looking to run maybe a 5k or 10k while there. Anyone know where I can find out if there are any during the dates we'll be there?

Thanks,
Melinda

Melinda: Here is the website for STAR: http://stthomasroadrunners.org/ Therese Hodge is the runner-in-the-know! They used to have a Hurricane Marilyn and Hugo memorial run in mid-September, but I don't know if they still do. If there isn't a race, you might find a group run during your stay.;)

You would have to be a helluva runner to tackle a 5k or 10k road race in STT with all those hills. My best distance there is 25 feet to a cold beer in the fridge. :@)

There is actually an active running and triathlete community here! Hills? We laugh at hills!:P The biggest problem here is finding longer runs. The typical running spots include the airport road (flat), the Park Service road (flat), the waterfront (flat) and Magens-Peterborg (hilly). Hope you have fun, Melinda. Jim and Mary, you can cheer her on with a cold one!;)
