Hello all,
I'm looking to find out if any of you living on St. John (or visitors) may have any information on a 90+ foot sailboat called Virtual Piracy (or possibly Privacy). Apparently the woman who owns the sailboat lives on St. John part-time and lives somewhere down near Vi's Beach. any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

It could be that people shyed away from the topic header since it was unusual and we get some inappropriate stuff posted once in a while. Try changing your topic header to be more explicit about what you want to know- just a suggestion

I don't know the boat owner but it may be the case that those who do choose to respect her privacy.

I thought about the subject header after the fact and realized it probably did steer some people away, thanks for the reply however, I'll be more careful in the future as to my subject line... Thanks!

I'm not trying to pry into anyone's privacy, I was given the name of the sailboat by a previous guest on the boat (unfortunately it's been a few years and they lost the contact name and such) for a possible trip this upcoming February. I'm simply trying to find out information regarding the boat and if it still exists, and are they still chartering sailing excursions. Thanks for responding however!

Jill: Are you sure about the boat's length? That seems pretty big. If it is a crewed charter, you might want to check with a local charter broker like Ellen Stewart at www.stewartyachtcharters.com. A charter broker can help a great deal in matching you up with a boat and crew.

I noticed that this topic has had 163 views, while "What are Good Spots for Snorkeling in St John" has had only 159 views, so I don't think the wording scared people away. My self, I don't know anything about the boat.

Jill:

That is a very large sailboat! 90 ft plus. I think you might have the name wrong. A boat that size tends to stand out.

Jill, sometimes we get visitors to this board who are looking for wayward husbands or wives who have taken off with the cash and the sailboat. I guess these waywards head down to the Caribbean and blend in with the island communities.....but then someone comes looking....wants a divorce....wants a settlement.....wants something....and we, on this board and others, are presented with a description of the wayward and the boat...and asked if we know where they are. That is what I first thought of when I read your post.....some ex husband is looking for his wife who took off with the 90' yacht, named it Virtual Piracy (since she virtually pirated it from him as paybacks for whatever he did to her) and she's living on STJ under a new identity "da lady wit da big boat"!! I was cheering her on!! 😉
