I've never seen VI Pale Ale in the states. It is produced by Shipyard Brewing Co. in Maine, so you may want to try one of their brews. Shipyard products are readily available in the New England area.

Don't know if you can find it Stateside or not, but if you can't try Pyramid Apricot Ale (if you can find that) - tastes very, very similar 🙂

There are some nice articles (and not so nice) if you do a search on virgin islands pale ale. You can find more info at www.shipyard.com or www.stjohnbrewers.com

VIPA is brewed by shipyard exclusively for St John Brewers. It is being distributed through out the USVI by the West Indie Company. I could not find any distributors State side. I thought it would be fun to see if I could find some for my hubby. When I am at work today, I'm going to check the beer lists from our distributer. Heidelberg seems to carry quite a wide range of weird tastes and difficult beers and wines that are hard to find. I will let you know if I find anything more.

We go to Rt One Liquors in Foxboro, across from the football stadium- they have everything. I haven't tried Cork's on Rt 140 in Mansfield but I bet they do too as they specialize in beers. Another option is Country Liquors on Armistad Blvd (I think) in Pawtucket, RI. The owner also specializes in exotic beers- I could call him for you if you're near there as I took a course at Johnson and Wales with him and he's really into beers.

Thanks Karrieb - I know exactly where Rt One Liquors is; next time we're in Foxboro we'll check it out. I'll also check Colonial Spirits in Acton as they also specialize in exotic beers and I haven't checked there in awhile. If I don't have any luck here, I'll check out Pawtucket on the way down to my sister's (Portsmouth RI) sometime. Thanks so much for the info.

KarrieB - Thanks for the tip! I think I'll check it out on the way to Kenny Chesney's show in Foxboro next week...

Well have a great time BBG- wave to us on the other side of town (we wisely bought our house AWAY from the stadium). You might try calling them first to make sure of what they have for beers that day. Great guys, a couple of brothers who own it. If we're lucky and the winds are blowing the right way, we'll hear the concert from our deck! Its officially Route One Liquors but I don't have their number. Tell them Karen from town who took the wine course at Johnson and Wales sent you. The brothers are great at hunting down new wines for me. Your other option is to call Cork's on Rt 140 in Mansfield- you would get there coming from 495, to Rt 140 and the plaza is right as you get onto Rt 140. They are new and specialize in beers and wine.

Glad to hear there is some discussion about VI Pale Ale. As the co-owner of VI Pale Ale I can tell you that we are currently available only in the state of Rhode Island. Check out our website www.stjohnbrewers.com to see our growing list of locations. We appreciate your support and hope to expand into other New England states in the future. If you can't get to RI be sure to visit us in the VI! Cheers.

Thanks KarrieB! Yes we were happy with the write-up in the Providence Monthly. We are continuing to expand with our new brewing facility up and running in Mongoose Junction. We named it The Tap Room. Come see us soon. Take care.

We'll be producing several styles of brew at our new brewpub in Cruz Bay. I'm looking forward to producing an IPA.
