Has anyone stayed at either Anole or Ciellodonna villas? We are looking for 4-5 bedroom, with pool around $6000/week or so. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also were is a good location to stay on St. John?

I haven't stayed at either, but Anole is definitely a place I want to check out!

Location really depends on your priorities. Do you plan to eat out often? If so, do you mind a late night drive across the island? If you plan to cook at home, do you plan to visit the market often (for example, I always forget one ingredient and really need access to the market on a daily basis, lol). Which beaches do you intend to visit most often?

I personally love staying in private villas with beautiful views and few, if any, neighbors in sight. It doesn't matter to me where exactly I stay on the island, though I would definitely prefer not to be overlooking Cruz Bay since there are just too many dwellings for my taste in that area.

If you want to stay near the North Shore beaches and close to town, but feel fairly secluded, I think Anole would probably be a great option. Remember, there's no air conditioning, but that may or may not be a problem for you. I mean, with enough of a breeze at night, there's really no need for one. However, if there aren't many breezes during your trip, you might be miserable...difficult to predict. The view appears to be outstanding from Anole, though. It definitely would get my vote!

Try www.windspree.com. They have an availability calendar online and several villas to choose from with locations all over the island. Kay and Karen, who run the show, are super to deal with!

Just got back from a week at Ristaba rented through VISTA Vacations. Great place has 4 bedrooms and two more in the cottage. All of the bedrooms have AC. Big pool and a view of Great Cruz bay and evening sunsets. It went for around $6,000 and is a short drive to Cruz Bay for groceries or entertainment.

Great place I would highly recommend it.

Look at Great Expectations. We looked into that for a large group but ended up only needing a 3 bedroom (stayed at Sea Cay and it was amazing). Great Expectations looks incredible - check it out.
