Getting close to getting my tickets for our family (Players and age next year: husband, 43, myself, 43, son, 18, son,15 and daughter, 12). My husband and I stayed on STT about 9 years ago, loved SJ. Took the kids about 4 years ago and shared a pool room at the Westin. They let us have a rollaway in the room. Now, the rooms are nearly as much as a villa rental and we just don't fit anymore! This trip we're planning for next June is using frequent flyer miles (American) which I have enough for all of us and we want to come for my oldest high school graduation. I am getting our flights first, then the villa, but I've looked and looked and looked already. Here are the villas still available- our price range varies from $2500 to $3500 per week. I think at times I'd like to save money, but then I also think if our flights are free wouldn't a nicer place be a better memory- and you DO get what you pay for, usually. Criteria: Sunset views (husband), Pool (larger the better), place to sleep for 5- seems like we have to pay for 6 (that third kid just put us over the top!). I would like one of the bedrooms to have two twins. A pull-out coach would be ok, but for that money a bed is nicer. I also want a garden shower. The areas we are looking at are mostly closer to Cruz Bay, husband doesn't want Coral Bay for the drive to get to the restaurants. So, I have decided on Maria Bluff, Contant Point or Chocolate hill areas.

Villa choices-
Sago Palms
Splendore
Colibri
Serenity
Eaglesnest
Calicaribe
Altagracia
Allesandra

ANY Comments appreciated- I realize things like Splendore has a pullout bed and Calicaribe doesn't have two twins- but they may have some appeal that makes them interesting enough to make my list.

Thanks!

I love Alessandra the views and sunsets are great. The pool is bigger then most you find hot tub is wonderful to relax in and watch the sunset. eating under the Lani with the lights of st Thomas is out of this world. The only problem for you it has 2 queens and a king beds but there is a day bed in one bed room also that I can personally say is quite comfy after passing out on it one night. Other wise we like Cygnus, the sleeping would arrangement would be more what your looking for and you have access to the water at chocolate hole down a path the snorkeling is out of this world. We took are family there for my sons graduation the kids liked the billiard room but the sunsets aren't Near as good as Alessandra.

cara,

i responded to your post about rockbridge then spotted this one re lower sw corner villas. while the views are not upper rockbridge nor gifft hill, we stayed at sundance on upper tamarind in oct 04 and were pleased. while we have not toured, meritage and la baracuda are also on upper tamarind. Sundance has the obligatory stt lights/sunset views, as will as great view across hart bay all way to stx. huge master with great garden bath on main level and 2 bedrooms down. pool is small but adequate and has great deck s up and down including gazebo for evening shade. i believe she's fully ac'ed now and is well equipped. she's not luxury but very comfortable. see her at cloud9villas.com. they also have a gifft hill villa we love, cloud nine, larger pool and ac and a kitchen view to die for.

again, happy hunting.
