I am thinking about renting this villa for week. Does anyone know anything about it?

I've stayed in this villa twice -- most recently in October -- and we liked it very much, (obviously). It's perfect for two couples or one couple with kids. It's not super-luxurious, but it's quite nice.

There is one bedroom upstairs and one downstairs. The downstairs bedroom is accessed by a spiral staircase. (In many villas with bedrooms upstairs and down, you have to go outside to access the downstairs bedroom.) This was appealing for when we went with kids, because if they got scared, they wouldn't have to go outside to come find us.

If you're going with another couple, there shouldn't be any bedroom envy. Both are basically the same. The washer and dryer are located off the downstairs bathroom, which is convenient for the person who's staying downstairs (and inconvenient for the people staying upstairs, unless they can get the other couple to do their laundry!). Both bedrooms are air-conditioned, and neither has a TV.

The main part of the house has the usual equipment. (I was told it doesn't have a DVD player, but it does.) It has a deck and a small swimming pool. It's quite close to town, which we consider to be a good thing. Not walking distance, but just up the next hill after the Starfish market, if you know where that is. The view overlooks Cruz Bay, with St. Thomas to the left and the start of North Shore road to the right. We've stayed around Chocolate Hole and out a bit farther, and although those views are beautiful, we prefer this view because it has a bit more variety. It's close to the site of that monstrous condo development, but we were there for a few days before we even figured out how close we were! No problems with construction noise, and from our deck, you really had to make an effort to see any neighboriing houses.

When I've been with larger groups, we stayed in bigger homes that were more luxurious. But for two couples or one couple with kids, we would choose Perelandra every time.

I'm probably a bit late in responding to this but am just getting 'caught up' on the forum (I've been missing a lot lately due to sickness & work...poor me 🙁 )

Anyway, I've stayed at Perelandra a couple times also (sounds like cg & I are kindred spirits! 🙂 Anyway, once with kids and once alone (ah, alone, how nice...I LOVE my kids to death but couples definitely need the 'just us' recharging time).

Perelandra is great for both. We actually just booked it a THIRD time to go down with dear friends of ours. Really works well for couples to be alone together, 2 couples traveling together, or a small family (I think kids have to be at least 8 if I remember right; our were 9 & 11, so just right).

It's a great little villa--fantastic views, great location, lots of privacy, tons of nice touches in the house. Had everything we needed.
