Has anyone stayed at Villa Olga? Can you tell me how it was? If it's convenient to the airport and to downtown (withing walking distance)?

I have not stayed at Villa Olga (I live in St Thomas), but I tried to recommend it to someone on another forum. When he called, they gave him a room at Bolongo for some reason instead of Villa Olga.

Villa Olga is convenient to both town and the airport - it's in an area that's called Frenchtown. It's within walking distance to town, and Frenchtown has some great restaurants and a bistro. I guess it's about 10 minutes from the airport.

The view from Villa Olga is nice - it's near the Frenchtown Marina. There's a tiny Frenchtown museum, and some small historic ruins. The area is quaint, IMHO.

Have you seen their website? Rooms look nice.

Nice restaurant, too. Oceana is one of my favorites.

Villa Olga is owned by the Doumeng family who also own Bolongo. Last I heard they had slated it for renovation, so I don't even know if it's open for rent at the moment. From someone who was living on the property, it wasn't somewhere you would want to stay. That info is a few months old though - so I'll see if I can verify it with my landlord next time I see him - he's maintenance manager at Bolongo 🙂

They've been running ads in the Daily News encouraging locals to have their friends and family stay there. That's a bold move if the place isn't nice - you know how bad news gets around here! The place looks okay from the outside, so maybe they've done the renovations?

Stopped by there today to pick up a suitcase that was taken there by an incoming guest (so it's open) that did not belong to them and noticed it was painted and there wa a load of fresh lumber on the ground outside indicating they may be woking on it.
