*Hello: My husband and I are planning our firt trip to USVI and we are thinking about staying in a villa on the island of St. John. We are experienced divers and wanted to know a villa close to dive boat operators. Can you also recommend a dive boat operator? We know about Cruz Bay watersports at the Westin, but are there others on the island.

Cruz Bay Watersports is headquartered IN Cruz Bay - they have a 'sattelite' shop at the Westin.

There are several recommendations on the board - I have heard good things about Six Paq (not sure of the spelling).

Villas....take your pick, but get a car/jeep unless you want to lug all your dive gear with ya 😉

thanks for the reply. Cruz Bay Watersports looks pretty expensive. it's only $5.00 less if you have your own gear so why both lugging it??? We found the 6-PAC http://www.6paqscuba.com/ place on the Internet last night so maybe we'll us them. We also found the BookitBVI web site http://www.bookitvi.com/about.htm and they were able to find us a villa in Coral Bay which I know is on the far east end of the island, away from Cruz Bay, but I think it's more what we are looking for on vacation. We were also able to find links to car renals from that site as well.

St. John Dive Adventures is opening back up after being purchased by new owners. They are the only dive operation located out of Coral Bay. They are a smaller, more personal experience than the larger outfits. You can read about them on their website at stjohndiveadventures.com I know those phone numbers shown aren't working because of the change of ownership. I don't have a number in front of me but send me note if you are interested and I'll get it for you.

I hired Captain John of 6 Paq charters to take me to The Baths. I completely recommend him. He's a very good boat operator with great local knowledge. On the way back from The Baths, he took us to a lot of off the beaten path snorkling spots.
