Does look really nice!! I have not been to Estate Harmony, but from viewing the villa's location on the site's map, I see that it is between Red Hook and Magens Bay - very convenient to Red Hook, Smith Bay beaches (Sapphire, Coki, Coral World, Water Bay, etc - and the now closed Lindquist. The villa would be even more spectacular if the access to Sunsi beach was not blocked by fence, as the narrative discloses.

I found the listing on several sites, one being the Christie's Great Estates page (as in, the famous Christie's Estate Sales). Sale price $1.25M. Seem low and the page is only available on cache, so that may have been years back. Here's a link to the cache, which has some pictures that I don't see on the rental sites.

Also, the rental rate on www.vrbo.com (Vacation Renal By Owner) seems to be the lowest for 1-6 people ($700 less than others) . Didn't compare the other tiers.

How did you come across this one?

Looks like a winner to me. Of course, best feedback is from someone who has visited.

We've been looking at the same Villa. It does seem priced lower then alot of other Villas.

Maybe the people are desparate to rent or sell. The thing that made me nervous is what if they sell it and you have a week booked?

Connie,

There is no indication that this villa is currently up for sale. Even if it is sold, which happens frequently with rental villas, the transaction should be transparent to renters. It would be likely that the new owner would also be looking to rent it out, and would be happy to continue the rental program as is. Don't worry.

I stayed there with my family a few years ago. It worked out well for us even though there were a few problems. We
had to purchase rat traps at one point, but on an island that happens. The pool is very small. Almost a kiddie pool
and it is always in the shade. The water never got warm enough for me to get in. We spent a lot of time at the
beach though, so not that big of a deal. In other words, it worked out just wasn't perfect.

Thanks Blu...but I know with my extensive search (driving me crazy) I saw that villa for sale. I don't know if we're going to rent it, but it was a consideration when I saw that it was for sale.

Trying to find something for 8 people is really getting to me. Usually, I'm the travel agent in this family, even though my daughter works for apple Vacations.

Friends of ours have no idea how much it costs to rent a place and how much it costs once you're there (which we're not going to tell them about).

I need to find something with 4 bedrooms, no sofabeds and a pool. I have a list, but still with 8 people, nobody can come to a conclusion on what to rent. Want to be near Red Hook for the convenience.

Connie,

I really wouldn't consider De La Vista to be near Red Hook. I can't recall if you were a repeat STT visitor, so forgive me if you are already familiar with STT and have decided that De La Vista is close enough to Red Hook for your convenience. Getting through Smith Bay can be a hassle with the traffic, and Smith bay would be between Red Hook and this villa.

Estates or neighborhoods closer to Red Hook off the top of my head would include Cowpet Bay, Carbita Point, Estate Nazareth.

Villas with 4 or 5 bedrooms in those areas include:

Cayenne (4BR)

One Beach Road (4BR)

St James Bay House (4BR)

Blue Moon (5BR)

Casa Bougainvillea (5BR)

Sea Star (5 BR)

What else is on your list Connie?

Wow Blu...unbelievable post. Thank you so much!

I also looked at the villa you're renting....it's unbelievable.

Now I have to do my homework.
