I have watched the Colors of Paradise TV videos and they were great from a PR standpoint. I have also searched this forum under "video" but didn't find very many videos posted. What I would like to see are tourist, or locals videos, from a behind the scenes viewpoint.

With as many people who vacation in the islands I thought more videos would have been posted. Even just driving around town or out riding around in a boat?

Anybody have some videos to share?

Glad you liked the videos on Colors of Paradise TV. (tu)

Could you expand on what you mean by behind the scenes? In some of your other post you mentioned thinking about moving here... are you looking for videos of more every day stuff... roads, post offices, DMV, buildings, etc.

First a thanks to Captain John. I just briefly watched the first one shown but it's time to make dinner so I'll have to come back and watch more later.

Islander,

Yes I was looking more for videos of everyday stuff from residents. Local resturants, the airport, shopping, that kind of thing. I am strongly considering a major life change hence my screen name. I have already done the career thing and lost my job of 31 years to NAFTA. I've also been taking care of both my parents through their final years.

I have no family or ties to keep me here. I had SCUBA training up through instructor status with PADI back in the 80s. My career was in aviation so I also have that background in management. I'm thinking of either trying to find an existing job or starting a new business of my own. I'm kinda leaning more towards the new business so instead of taking a job from a resident I would hopefully be creating new jobs.

I have used Google Earth to zoom in on the business districts and residential areas but video would be much better.

Thanks for the feedback my_life_part_2. On Colors of Paradise TV we intend to have shows on some of the main towns/areas and perhaps some island tour type shows, so keep watching.

You might try clicking around on youtube, do some searches for Virgin Islands related terms.

There is a St. John Blog that includes videos. They have some island drives included that might interest you. You can scroll through the videos for the island drives, they are called Jeep Cam. http://www.on-stjohn.com/category/recent-videos/.

And you might look into the Living In De VI DVD, its a video we did for people interested in moving to the islands. Covers some general information and island specific information. The island specific sections include aerial and on land tours. More on that at http://www.livingindevi.com/.
