I just checked your other thread, and saw that we all forgot to mention Udder Delight. It's right at the top of the road to Magens Bay, in the St. Thomas Dairy location, and not near P&P. They make phenomenal shakes of all kinds. After our two week stay last year, the women who work there were in tears when Candy and I said we were leaving the next day....we went there that often. There were days when the shake became dinner. They also sell ice cream cones, but I've never had one. I always get a chocolate/chocolate shake with a banana blended in.

Are you renting a car for your visit? Nothing that you're asking for is just a hop, skip, jump or a walk from P&P but then nowhere here is!!! Sort of akin to the old Maine joke of, "You can't get there from here" with a twist.

All sorts of ice cream is available at all the supermarkets. Plaza Xtra in the Tutu Park Mall carries a most sinful selection. I scurry by there wearing the proverbial blinders for the most part but SOMETIMES I do succumb to either Haagen Daz or Ben and Jerry's and tell myself that I'll just eat, "one little spoonful." Sure. Ends up like the classic Monty Python routine and the "one tiny little mint" routine ...

Gerie: reference Udder Delight and your saying that you get the, "chocolate/chocolate shake with a banana blended in." And what liquor is in there, pray tell? Children order the virgin versions, adults order the good stuff, so don't go disseminating false information! Actually the Udder Delight shakes are quite awesome but when I return home from a wonderfully relaxing day at Magens these days I just drive by.

Cheers!

Just how awesome are those shakes? Well, Candy and I went to Udder Delight several times. We never went to Magens Bay. Udder Delight was a destination in itself. Vacation mentality.

Yes, you can get liquor in your shake, but I prefer mine without. I suppose some Bailey's wouldn't be a bad addition. Kind of like a frozen BBC.

Thank you for the ice cream responses. To tell the truth I didn't realise my daughter had posted that question! She's getting to be quite a whiz on the computer these days...
