This year's events run March 31, 2013 to April 27, 2013!
The schedule of events from the Queen Show, Calypso Shows, Village Opening to the Parades and Fireworks can be found on the Events Calendar (you can navigate to April by clicking the month or using the arrows).
This year's theme is "A Tropical Scene for Carnival 2013".
If you want to learn about Carnival & Festival themes and browse the themes from the last few years visit Carnival Themes.
Happy Carnival!
bump
We arrive in St. Thomas on April 27th and will immediately take the ferry over to St. John. Does anyone see us having more difficulty getting to the Red Hook ferry due to the Carnival????
Thanks for your input.
Depending on your arrival time and carnival schedule (just remember if it's an adult parade day,
it usually starts late and ends late) you may have delays as some roads blocked off.
Maybe Islander has more info as I haven't really been paying attention to the dates.
Are you renting a car or taking a taxi from airport?
You may also want to check the downtown ferry schedule to STJ, if taking a taxi..
Even if you're coming right in the middle of the Saturday parade, the taxi drivers know enough to take you "over the mountain" on an alternate route which will quickly get you to Red Hook. The CA ferry schedule is very limited and, even if you arrive at the right time to get that ferry, it might be a bit of a zoo there with people going back and forth from STJ for Carnival!
We are arriving about 4:00 pm instead of the usual time of 3:00pm. So, we are already an hour later than usual. Hope you are right about the taxi drivers and hope our luggage is not lost this year.
Thanks for your input.
