If you are planning at eating nice places, I would suggest making reservations(no more than a day or two ahead of time) and say how many people in your party are vegetarian and or vegan. That gives the chefs time to prepare. If you dont do that, obviously, you wont get anything more than a bunch of side dishes thrown together in most cases.

Hello Clint,

You might try some of the local restaurants like Miss Lucys that serves local fish dishes with ground provisions like sweet potato, plaintains, okra, veges... I have heard good things about Stone Terraces vegetarian dishes but I haven't been there myself. The Simple Feast is a deli/grocery but has a range of things to eat and its good, they have vege sandwiches and dinners.

Chris - are you still doing the Vegetarian night at Tarmarind Inn?

I did for about four months. We had a great turn out. Unfortunately, Veggies arent huge eaters. Its hard to make a profit on soup, only. We would do thirty people and gross 300$ sometimes. We switched it to Italian Night and we do New Orleans Seafood with fresh oysters but we are only doing it for three more weeks cuz I took a job at Chloe and Bernards as the head chef so Ill have my hands full with that!

I will miss Vegetarian night, remember I was one of those small eaters!Congratulations on your head chef position. I remember when Johnny B. had it. Best of luck to you. Hello to Jennifer.
