Like I said, it would be over in the blink of an eye. Here I sit at my desk at work and it doesn't even seem like I was even gone (other than the tan).

Now for my review. Where to begin....... I hope I don't bore anyone with my long review.

First and foremost, to everyone who made me worry about Bluebeard's Castle, shame on you. The room was clean and nice. I called once for new towels and someone was at our door in minutes. We also called once for maintence (clogged toilet) and they were there just as fast. The grounds were kept up and the pool and hot tub were working just fine. The Room With a View restaurant was fabulous!!! I had the Chicken Cordon Blue and I will never be able to eat it again here in the states.

My husband and I spent a day at Magen's Beach. It was slightly crowded but beautiful and they have great pizza!!! Thanks to Marty, we hit Udder Delight on our way back to our resort and the Bananaquit was very tasty. My husband had the Berry Berry Good and that is was.

We listened to the timeshare spill to get the VIP card Marty spoke about. That qualified us for the two-for-one deal on New Horizons all day sail and don't forget about that complimentary bottle of Cruzan rum. That afternoon we went to see these rock formations that are near Megan's. It was a very deserted area and it was the neatest thing to see. The water hits the side of the rocks and makes sprays and there is a pool of water that has formed in the rocks. Unfortunately, I was to chicken to get in it for fear of drowning. It really did a number on our feet too since we were wearing slip ons. OOPS!!!! Marty, do you know the name of this area? The person who did our timeshare spill told us about it.

The New Horizons All Day Sail was terrific. We snorkeled in two different locations off of St. John's. The food they served was very good and the Pain Killers were something else.

We spent an afternoon shopping on Main Street and the Waterfront. I would recommended going to the Waterfront to shop for souvenirs. There are a ton of locals who set up tarp canopies and sell everything you can imagine. You will need to do some bartering but they seem to like that. They sell T-Shirts 4 for $10.00.

If anyone plans to take Taxi's around the islands, they are readily available but can get pricey. We rented a car and were glad we did.

We also spent a day on Captain Nautica's Powerboat BVI and Norman Island tour. We snorkeled around the Indians, which are off of Norman Island and then spent time at the Baths of Virgin Gorda. They were nice but hard to crawl through. I am almost 6-feet tall and that was tricky. The only thing I didn't care for was how they pulled up about 100 yards (one football field) from shore and dropped anchor and made you swim to the beach. Of course the day we went the water was rough and there were alot of waves. According to them that is rare for the area around Virgin Gorda. It was so bad we weren't made to swim back to the boat instead we hiked up a mountain in our bare feet and took a taxi to a nearby Marina where they docked the boats for us to get back on.

We ate at Shipwreck Tavern, a bar/restaurant on top of Paradise Point (by the way, it is not longer free to ride the tram to Paradise Point during happy hour on Wednesday nights. Since we were at Bluebeard's and did the timeshare thing they charged us $5 a person), we had pizza from the pizza place by Shipwreck ( I think it was called Amore Pizza), Room With a View and of course Wendy's. All the food we had was good, no complaints.

Well I hope you all enjoyed reading my review. I hope I wasn't to long but I love to talk about our trip. Can you tell?????!!!!!

They were near the water. It looked like they each had a bucket. Both of them were practically bent in half picking something up. I was just curious.

While my husband and I were at Peterborg Point, we noticed little, white snail shells attached to the rocks there. There were snails in them. Does anyone know what they were?

I think it's disgusting that you would do timeshare presentations for freebies. Get a life and quit being a mooch on society. I have friends that are in sales in the timeshare industry and people like you cost them their job.

Great review and I'm so glad you had a good experience at Bluebeard's! I'm a timeshare owner there, a week in April, and I love the place! Room with a view is a truly wonderful restaurant and the owner is is great guy. Glad you didn't waste your time or vacation bucks at Banana Tree Grill. I'm headed back in two weeks and can't wait to be back in the islands, plan on taking the day trip to the Baths thanks to info found here on this website. Thanks for sharing your vacation!

Steady on there, Joe. They may be your friends, but they use extremely high pressure tactics to make sales - it is business, nothing personal and the good sales people still make plenty of money despite the "disgusting" ones amongst us. You don't think that it comes as a surprise to the powers that be that some people go for the freebies....pshaw!!!!!!!!! It is all built in to the overall budget plan.
A mooch on society????????? They are not society, they are a for profit business that usually mooches on its clients.
Hmmmmmmmm, freebies from timeshare companies = welfare fraud in Joe's book!!!!!!!

Joe,

I'm curious to know why you would dredge up a 2 and a half year old thread to berate someone who probably doesn't even post here anymore. I assume that person has gone to a presentation, had a wonderful discount coupon for a great day on the water, and returned from a great vacation to get on with a full life. I doubt that s/he is looking to see if anyone has responded to a post s/he wrote in January, 2005. Only someone who needed a life would do such a thing.

And, trust me, if your timeshare salesperson friends are losing their jobs, it's not because of those who go to presentations for freebies. Perhaps they just weren't very good at their jobs.

I don't post often, but this guy really irked me.

Wow, Great report!
Someone was watching out for you when you decided not to go in the tidal pool!!!!

Many people have died, a wave goes over the rocks, into the pool, and then sucked out into the crevice beside it!
Go see it, but stay back!

Glad you enjoyed your stay at BlueBeard's!

yeah, I also wondered why someone would bring up a report 2 years old just to criticize the people who obviously had a wonderful time. he/she irked me too. There should be a way that threads over a year old are permanently dumped into a trash bin!

Mountaneer girl,
I can understand about some things being dumped, but not others. Things like reviews on Villas, Wedding companies, pertinent information is invaluable!!!!!!
Sorry this happened, I didn't read it all. I simply know that when I read the report, I freaked about the fact that they weren't told how DANGEROUS the location they were sent to was!!!!!

you are right Sherri, villa reviews etc are valuable, even if a couple years old. Didn't think about that. Guess there's no good way to prevent people from dragging up irrelevant stuff (like Kenny Chesney threads - ha!) gotta take the good with the bad.

But responding to someone so critically and KNOWING that the probability of that person still checking back after all this time - we'll he had an alternative motive.

It's a strange and interesting thing. I also pay attention to the date of the OP and notice that it happens occasionally on some of the forums. I think that "dredge" is a good word to describe it. And it sometimes seems a bit surreal to me that some poster today is responding directly to a poster from a couple of years ago. Perhaps they're trapped in the time/space continuum and it all truly is relative.

Mostly I wonder what sort of a search they were doing to locate the particular post. Yes, and why.

I just read the post titled "St John/Asolare". That's a really interesting example of this dredging phenomenon. The OP is dated 2002 and over five years later, someone responded to it a few days ago. I suppose that shows that it's possible that someone could respond to this post in 2012. Wouldn't that be a surprise. What will life be like in 2012?

Moderators of other boards with which I am familiar "lock" posts after a certain amount of time has passed so that the threads are still readable in the site's archives but readers can no longer add to the threads.
