Ok - last night I had a "vacation nightmare"...

I rented a villa (private, from the owner) and it turned out to be haunted. It was on STJ.

The owner disappeared and I couldn't get my money back. I needed to immediately vacate the villa and find a new one. Seriously, the villa was majorly haunted - rooms flooding with water, things flying around, something kept eating the food and drinkining our beer !!! (ok, I can hear the men saying "oh, that WAS time to LEAVE!")

I was begging a certain villa agent to give me to give me a 20% discount on a replacement 4BR villa since I was out of all of the money I had spent on the first (haunted villa). But, they were telling me that there was nothing in the contract that said they would guarantee a non-haunted villa, so I would be out of luck if the second villa turned out to be haunted, too.

I think I need a vacation! (february!)

*Please remember to ask your agent about the haunted clause - do you get a refund if your villa is haunted? 😉

I wouldn't mention any ghosts in a villa you rent. They might charge more for extra occupants. 🙂

OK Blu,
YOU need a vacation! First time I've ever heard or even thought of a Haunted Villa! Suppose it's possible tho! 🙂
Have you found anything for Feb. yet?

Speaking of ghosts, spirits and such, I've never felt anything on STJ, but I've always suspected that there's more there than meets the eye. It's a funny kind of place and there certainly is a lot of history. Here's an article that i came upon a while back:

Okay, you've made me curious.......what villa were you staying in???? Isn't there something about putting pennies on each corner of the property?

Yall are giving me the creeps, haha, but as long as we're on the subject (sort of) does anyone know why the grave markers in the cemetery that is up the hill from Cruz Bay toward Gallow's Point have 3 dates on them? I wondered everytime we walked back to our condo why each tombstone had the name and then 3 dates listed. I'm sure one is birth and I assume the other is death soooooo what is the middle date?

I would think the middle date is the date of marriage, but who knows! Maybe it's the date that their ghost started haunting a villa 🙂
