Hello - We are headed to St. Thomas June 7th - 14th. I was wondering if it is very windy there and where might be a fun family style restaurant? Thanks!

Beth:

Windy.....not really.

Family restaurants....try Red Hook for a variety of places.......also Iggies at Bolongo Bay is very good......The Point Pleasant Resort has Fungis which is one of our favorites for "burger like food" as well as some local favorites.

If you tell us where you're staying we can provide more restaurant info.

Also, I hope that you're renting a car as taxis are very expensive!

Regards,

F.I.

Hello - Thank you! We are wanting to rent a car but as this is our first time to the islands we are not sure where to do that! We are staying on the Peterborg Peninsula. Any and all info you can give me on the islands and things to do, fun activities, where to go, good shopping, renting a car - Anything! I would appreciate. We are bringing along our niece who has never been on a plane or seen the ocean! I look forward to hearing back from you! YAY!

Thanks,

Cody

Absolutely rent a car! There are tons of posts on the subject but the bottom line is that you need to do that. Peterborg is beautiful but isn't on any main route for either public transportation (NOT recommended for visitors anyway) or taxis.

This active forum and this website can keep you busy for hours doing searches and finding out all you need to know. Cheers!

cbethgo,
Cool name! lol!
Definately rent a car! Many out there to choose from. My favorite to work with is Amalie. As mentioned above, there is a lot of information on the subject.
We also have a multitude of restaurants as well! Try Indigo at Magen's Point Resort!
Fat Turtle at Yacht Haven Grande is nice and no need for reservations. I also like Fungi's at Point Pleasant, the atmosphere is wonderful!
Enjoy and rent a car!
