I was wondering about University of the Virgin Islands- St. Thomas and St. Croix campuses I was wondering if anyone knew about the pros and cons of the two campuses and how students get around and such.
I understand that the two campuses have some different degrees offered, which decides the choice for many. The UVI campus on STX is in a very rural area a long way from the main cities and population centers. If you don't find a rental property nearby, you will definitely need a car. You probably want one, anyway. If you can meet a few other students and get one together, you are ahead of the game.
yes I really am thinking about the St. Thomas Campus instead of the St. Croix one... because there are more degress offered. Do you know anything about the St. Thomas campus?
Kristen: If you live on campus, you can catch the safari into town pretty easily. If you live off campus, you will need a vehicle, or at least a very good friend with a vehicle.
The St Thomas campus has pretty good biology, marine biology, computer science departments. You need to be a focused student, or you can fall through the looking glass fairly easily.
You might ask over on the Relocation Message Board, too. (See above right corner!)
Hello Kristen,
Do check out the relocation/living in the VI site and message board. As East Ender pointed out there is a link in the top, right corner of this very page, says Moving Guide.
I attended UVI, St. Thomas campus - so if you have some specific questions feel free to ask and I will try and answer.
