Dear islanders
This is an update on my post: https://www.vinow.com/wwwtalk/read.php?4,111062
(Thanks for your answers and posts)
I've been writing some more chapters regarding Denmark and danish colonial history.
The project is very interesting and I'm discovering new aspects every day. And I'm having new ideas on things to write. But I'm lacking knowledge on what is told on the guided tours at the islands. This makes it difficult for me to write the book in order to get a close link to what tourist are told on the tours - and then write about 'the danish connection'.
Therefore I'm applying for grants in Denmark to do this research on location (STT, STC and STJ). Unfortunately I didn't do more than one guided tour on STJ (by ranger Don Near, NPS). So far I've got support from two nice people in Denmark and I have some money of my own - they are my wifes too, but if I take her with on the research tour, I have forgiveness 🙂
Very soon I'll be posting an english translation of one of the articles wich has been published in Denmark.
Hopefully it won't be long before I can visit your beautiful islands again. By that time I can tell you more and perhaps do a guided tour if you like 🙂
For now - lime out
Steen
I almost forgot:
The documentary on national broadcast has been prosponed due to finacial priorities.
My plan for the book was to do some of the research at the same time we did the documentary.
