The USS SARATOGA (CV-60) anchored off of Frenchmans Reef for Thanksgiving in 1991. Does anyone know if there are any photos of this visit in any museums or galleries on the island? I would enjoy seeing them as I was onboard for this port call and it was my first time to St Thomas.

You might check with the Historical Society to see if they have pics or may be able to guide you to where you may get info/pics.

I remember her visiting - you may want to check with the Virgin Islands Daily News as they probably took photos.

I have one of the USS Washington. Looking for the Saratoga. I have a hat from her! Was on the USO board then. Visited a few carriers.

Thanks Ron. I was the Small Boats/ Liberty Boats Officer, so we probably met. I want to get any pics I can to take shots of and post on the SARA Facebook page. 62nd annual reunion was held in Jacksonville last week. Next year is Louisville, KY. I'm pushing for St Thomas as the 64th reunion destination in 2015.

Cannot help you with a shot of the Saratoga, but here is a shot I took from a CG helo sometime around May 1, 1979.

I am pretty sure it is the QE2 in the foreground and the USS Independence CVA-62 in the background.
