Hello, I am working in St. Thomas and am looking for an old, small, wooden boat to modify into a poolside lounge/bench. It doesn't need to be sea-worthy. All I'm finding for sale are yachts and sailboats. I'm having a hard time finding a business that sells small, wooden boats. Hopefully someone here can point me to a local business and I can through some business their way.

Thanks!

Derek

You will probably have better luck posting on the Relocation Message Board link, which is toward the top right side of the page.

There isn't much demand for small, wooden boats, because there's some Coast Guard restriction on their use, I think.

Your best bet would be to go to Frenchtown and ask some of the people near the marina. You might also put up a sign in the window at Frenchtown Deli (with their permission, of course!)

There is no restriction about wooden boats from the USCG .
