We often see round ball like white spined urchin like creatures that often seem to carry debri or on top. They can be handled without harm. Anyone know the name for these?

It's a West Indian Sea Egg. I would guess that you can pick them up like an urchin and handle them with care but it's best not to bother them.

They're a sea urchin species. The debris on their backs is put there to camouflage them from their predators and/or to protect from sunburn in shallow waters. Like all marine creatures, look but please don't touch!
