My wife and I are visiting the islands for a few days in mid-September. Does anybody know of a house or cottage rental in the Mandahl Bay area? We love the down island views from that area and would enjoy staying in that part of the island. I thought perhaps there might be something on either Atlantic Road or off of the paved road runs near the old Inn at Mandahl and then down to the salt pond. We would also like to spend a day at Cooper's Island in the BVI's. Does anybody know of any day sails or power boat trips that go there from Tortola? There is a ferry to Cooper's from Road Town that is operated by the Cooper Island Beach Club, but the ferry runs back and forth only once a day. It is designed for guests who are going to overnight on the island.
Stefan: Pirate's Penny and Stormy Petrel stop at Cooper for lunch as part of their normal tour de BVI. CAUTION!! Mid-September is the lowest of low season, and due to the suspicious nature of Virgin Islanders (all the big hurricanes have been in mid-September) many boats are in the boatyard for safety for some part of the month. You will definitely need to call and check. You could also do the boat rental with captain route.
Someone else will need to help you with houses, but most rent for a week minimum.
East Ender, thanks much for the information about Stormy Petrel and Pirate's Penny. They do have a website, and I will contact them.
