Two more looong days till paradise (STT)...We can feel the warm breeze, taste the rum, see the swaying palms, taste the rum, smell the salt air, taste the rum, feel the sand in our toes, taste the rum. Can't wait to visit our freinds and meet some new, visit our favorite resturants and bars. Oh, did We mention...taste the RUM? 🙂

Hope to run into some of the people staying at the Elysian next week that have posted on this board.

Marty,

Yes, We purchased time share (two weeks) at the Elysian in '99 and have vacationed there every year since for the two weeks. We've thought about trading elsewere, but we enjoy St. Thomas so much we just can't imagine not spending vacation on STT.

We make our usual rounds, Roberts, Bonnies, Mollys, Duffys, Carribean Saloon, Bottoms Up, Hook, Line, and Sinker, Paradise Point, Green House, Mims, just to name a few. And always try to find new places to check out. Probably the sadest news we heard was Latitude 18 closing it'll be hard to find a place like it again.

This will be our seventh trip trip to STT our first was in Sept '89 for our honeymoon, we stayed on Water Island at Sea Cliff and rode out Hurrican Hugo there, and then spent a second week at the Windward Passage until the airport opened again.

If you come every year, you must know who I am! I was the Sales Manager at the Elysian and Bluebeard's Beach Club after Sue Wood (crazy redhead), until August of 2002. If you've gotten your VIP card, you probably know me. If you have ever been to the Monday nite party at the Castle, you definitley know who I am. Michael (the guy with the harmonica) and I tag-teamed hosting that party, and our version of "Soul Man" at the Karaoke party at the Pirate's Pub followng dinner and limbo/dancing on the pooldeck was always a hit!

Hugo, huh? And you still come here? Haha! J/K! But, seriously, that would have been enough to scare most folks away for life! Haha!

Latitude will be missed hugely. What a cool little place. A new place for you to check out for dinner is called INDiGO, at Magens Point Resort. The timeshare resort itself doesn't own or run it, and it shows! The food is phenomenal! And the prices? Fuhgeddaboudit! (sp?) Most expensive regular menu item is the bacon-wrapped filet mignon for $22!! They only do lunch and dinner, but lemme tell ya...it's got a great reputation! Try it, you'll be pleased.

Marty,

We bought our timeshare from Sue Wood, the last we heard she was in the states, have you heard anything new about her?

We've been to the Castle a couple of times for the party, I think the last time was in 2000. I'm sure we've met in the past at the Elysian, but I just can't put a face to the name (that happens when you hit 40 something), if we meet face to face it'll be "Oh yeah I remember you now"!!! Were are you working now, if your still doing entertaining we can come out and see you.

We heard Alex was going to re-open at Paradise Point do you know if that is still in the works or is he going to do something else.

We'll be sure to try INDiGO I've read some good reviews, any menu suggestions, I also want to try Fungi's, thoughts?

Maybe we will be on the same plane if you are leaving from BWI. This is my 25th trip to STT and I hope to make it to 50. There are 8 of us in the group staying at Holiday Inn...very convenient. Maybe we will see you at "Happy Hour" at the Greenhouse.

Pat & Sue,

Yep, I 've been in touch with Sue Wood a bunch in the last 6 months. She came back to STT to open an office for the company she works for (Global Discovery) and she just happened to catch me the day after I quit my job at Magens Point when they were selling Crown Global (I think they are crooks, that's why I quit), so I worked with her for about 2.5 months. When the business didn't pan out, she went back to the States and is in Kansas City, last I heard. I think she moves from town to town in her job. If you e-mail me, I will give you her e-mail addy.

I'm sure you would remember me if you me. I mean, I did that Monday night party EVERY Monday! And the Beach Party on Tuesday! And the "Go for the Gold" party on Thursdays! Ugh! That was a lot of work! If I only had that to do, that woulda been great, but I still had to sell timeshare in the mornings! Haha! But we sure had fun, though, didn't we?!?
