is there EVER a time that is best for trunk bay to be quiet and non populated! i am assuming that going when not too many cruise ships are in would be good but is it still crowded regardless?
would love to take the family there in april

I saw about 9 plaques. We were normally there until 12ish and have no problem with crowds. I actually like people and are not afraid of them.

Trunk Bay in the later afternoon is also pure delight.

Last Saturday it was one of our final STJ experiences for this year, arriving at 5 pm or so, observing a wedding party taking place (sweet place to be married!!), having a leisurely swim in that intoxicating water, watching the sun set ....

It was not totally devoid of other revelers, but late afternoon is a great time to experience a different facet of Trunk. And, in my somewhat limited experience (three trips to STJ), there hasn't been a time that I'd say it was truly crowded. (Now, Cruz Bay, that's another story...)

Shoot, I'd go to Trunk Bay right now if I could! 🙂
