Cruzan Rum has been purchased by Absolute and rum prices have gone up. We brought none back this year. Luggage was lighter. Still a good deal depending on rum prices in your area.
Joanne, thank you for finally giving a verified low STT price. Recent posts had been suggesting STT prices as low as $3.
Sandcrab, when I give you the time, location, and price of Cruzan rum ($5.49 last month at Pine Peace Market (not exactly "a sari sari store in the rainforest") on STJ), one (but obviously not you) might believe that's a valid price. Pine Peace Market may indeed run specials, but $5.49 is the base price.
I actually do not have a receipt for $5.49 Cruzan, because at $9.99 for 1.5l was a better buy.
Sorry MLS - when I said Sunny Isle I assumed everyone would know that I meant STX (and you know what they say about "assume"). Sometimes I forget which forum I'm on 🙂

$5.49 is a valid price. It's the 3.99 stuff that I a question: The age of the rum on the shelf, or the size of the bottle.
Joanne: You and your sister are "exceptions" due to your "frequent flyer" miles to St Croix. It wouldn't surprise me if all your rum drinks are "complimentary and/or provided by the St Croix Chamber of Commerce lol. Received your note and gift. I tipped your messenger the next day.
