Looks like the islands are in for Tropical Storm Chris... just looked at the latest on: http://www.nws.noaa.gov/alerts/vi.html. Probably won't be a huge deal at all, but definitely some rain and maybe flooding. Is anyone headed down there today or tomorrow???
we're landing in STT tomorrow at 1pm....what's the forecast by then
Im flying in, in 2 weeks..Hows the weather for August?? Am i going to hit constant rain everyday? :(!
Hello Joe & Allison,
Its understandable with all the tropical storm talk that you are thinking about the weather. Joe, looks like the weather reports show chances of showers at some point during the day tomorrow and the forecast is quite similar for the 4-5 days following.
Allison, the 15 day forecast gets close to your 2 week arrival period and it shows some cloudiness, some sunshine, but 15 days away is a ways away and the weather could change so best bet is to check the weather reports closer to your travel date. Historically August is one of the hottest months and it is one of the months we expect to get a bit more rain than usual (usual being not much rain, the rainier months are Nov, Oct, Sept, Aug in that order).
We have a weather page on this site, here is the link https://www.vinow.com/usvi/weather.php. It covers the historical averages for temperature, rainfall, hurricanes etc. And also has today's weather and a 5 day forecast. On the 5 day forecast you can click a link to see a 15 day forecast.

Thank you so much..we are staying at the Marriott Frenchmans Reef and are in desperate need of a sunny vacation!! I will keep checking the weather and crossing my fingers..I dont mind a few showers, but i just dont want to be rained out and kept away from the beach!
We were their last week and before we left it said chance of rain everyday
It turned out to be beautiful the whole week except the day we left
Dont worry, about a thing, cuz every little things gonna be alright!!!
Thanks for the positive messages..I just want sun, sun, sun..So i will be able to relax by the pool and beach! How accurate are the weather forecasts anyway? I see many different forecasts on different weather sites!

Weather forecasting is like "betting the ponies". Put your money on one or spread it around...just don't put all of your money out on one race. All of the weather services cover themselves when dealing with the Caribbean by stating 20-30% chance of rain every day. That means you have a 70-80% chance of sun and the rain usually lasts 5-10 minutes, often after sundown.
The only time you should pay attention is if the weather event has a name attached to it. Have a great trip and don't forget to use sun block. 🙂
Thank you very much! Cant wait to go and catch some rays 🙂
When we were there, it only rained once..on our last day..for about 15 minutes. Even then, it didn't keep us from the beach. And, it was actually relaxing sitting on the beach in a light rain. So don't worry!
