My family and I will be taking a trip to St. Croix in mid October. I have been to St. Thomas before and took a trip to the BVI's(with New Horizon) and would love to go back and take my family. The only problem is I can't seem to find a company that departs from St. Croix to go to the BVI's. Help?? If you know of any solutions It would be greatly appreciated!!!

hey waterlily, its easier than you think..we live on st. croix and have traveled to the bvi many times..again depending on how many in you party it can be cost efficient sea plane from st.croix to st. thomas about $110 to $130 per person round trip. what a way to travel!! .. about a 5min walk to your right is the ferry to tortola about 50 $ round trip be sure if going tortola you need to decide if you want to go to the west end or road town ferries there can connect you to Jost Van Dyke or Vigin Gorda

Hello Waterlily,

There are no daytrips from St. Croix to the BVI islands like the one you took with New Horizon from St. Thomas. You can do a daytrip to Buck Island while on St. Croix - which is worth doing.

So for travaling between St. Croix & the BVI doing an air/ferry route is the only option.

Or maybe a private trip through a term charter company if you wanted to do an overnight trip??

Please let me know if any charter companys come to mind. I think that might be a good option. I will definatly go and see Buck Island I hear it's breathtaking.

There's also the option of hiring a private plane to take you to Tortola or Virgin Gorda and back. It can be less than taking the sea plane and ferry, as well as saving a lot of time, if your group isn't too large to fit into one flight.
