Hello to all the STJ lovers
New to this board, been reading some of these posts about the fires/violence, etc. on the island. My hubby and I are right in the middle of selecting a villa and coming in May 2006 for our honeymoon. I feel a little weird now, do those of you who live or frequent there think it is safe to carry on with our plans, or put in on hold for a bit? I know this is a question that carries alot of uncertainty, but any tips/views of experienced Stjohnians will surely help me, at least put my mind at ease.

Thank you!

Hello diamond2

I'm not from STJ but would not hesitate making your plans (or ours) for the trip. As RonUSVI has said in earlier posts, this seems to be an isolated incident awash in uncertainty and certainly not a 'trend'. It will be interesting to see how it plays out but regardless it should not impact your plans. 🙂

Thank you chris,
a little added re-assurance goes along way, getting ready to book a villa, religiosly watching airfare rates, etc. lot's of work, can't imagine feeling "scared" to go over there, even though it isn't till May, once your booked, the $$$ is "gone" so to speak.

Hi, we will be in St. John in June of 06. We rented a villa and are taking our two kids ages 17 and 8. It will be my daughter's graduation trip. I have no reservations at all. We are all thrilled about the trip. S**t happens everywhere!
