I really had to sleep in this day. Like...8:30 or 9 maybe?
I was just so tired. Naomi wasn't in the cabin. Ok...I went and got myself ready and then headed down to the beach where Naomi was taking a nap under some sea grapes. There were some local boys swimming in the water when I went in and they were so cool. I noticed some inner tubes from yesterday that we're still sitting there in a tree so I grabbed them and me and the two boys did water tricks and just had fun. It reminded me of being a kid and it showed me how kids aren't different no matter where you go. They even made me play power rangers with them it was so cool. I felt really cool that they wanted to hang out with me! They were 9 and 13 and live on st John.
Naomi woke up and we headed back up to the cabin because we had to clean up and check out. We did that as quickly as possible and were out by 11:30. I was sad to leave beacause I had a great time, but at least the vacation wasn't over yet...
We hopped on the taxi and decided to get off at trunk bay. The most crowded beach I had been to so far and really it wasn't bad at all. It was nice. The water was stunning clear and warm. We made a spot under a Seagrape tree and took a dip. It was very sunny!
We came back and I thought I should call Andrea. She didn't pick up but called us back and....she was at trunk bay too!
I looked down the beach and go
" are you in a red bikini?"
She ended up coming down by us and we swam took pictures told stories and everything. She has such great stories and has been EVERYWHERE. I hope to see what she has seen one day I thought she was so awesome.
It was also lucky for us because we had all of our luggage and just threw it in her rented jeep! It was perfect. Really everything on this trip just worked out.
We went into Cruz bay and had dinner at high tide. We each ordered a different dish. We got a salad some jerk chicken and teryaki skirt steak. All were very very good and the bill was cheap when we split it!
As we sat there on our last night in st John I felt kinda anxious. I wish I could stay but I knew I had things at home to take care of first.
We bought baskets and birds, woven from coconut palms, from a gentleman on the beach, he seems to come every night and gives great deals and produces a great products! Make sure to pick something up when you are at the ferry dock in the evening.
We got on the ferry just in time and took the ride back to st Thomas. It was another beautiful sunset as usual and we met another cool person.
Btw Naomi and I are both Pisces and everyone we met was a Pisces or some sort of water sign it was crazy.
Well we met Maggie on the ferry and she invited us on a safari! In Africa! There is a whole itinerary and this and that. Sounds cool but who knows.
We had a drink in red hook while we waited for my cousin to pick us up. She arrived and we were off to.....manual bay!
My cousins friend has this place on mandahl bay that is just amazing. We arrived in the dark.
I was greeted by a beautiful yellow stucco fence with a door, pink flowers cascading everywhere and palm trees making a dramatic lush scene. Through the door was a trail lined by lush tropical foliage that led to a perfect sized pool in the courtyard, a steep palm tree covered hill on one side, the house on the other. I felt like I was in a tropics
Botanical garden.
The house was completely open air. Open doors open windows...but that was only the beginning. Once you entered the house thought the kitchen you could see the dining room which was open to a....completely open air living room that had triple French doors out to the pool. The courtyard pool opened to the living room which was completely open air to the sea! Just a balcony...a very large entire back of the house balcony.
She also had a giant swordfish that she caught in the bay.
The house was quite high up on a cliff with giant skinny palms swaying in the breeze while waves crashed on the rocks below and the sun danced on the water illuminating jost van dyke and Hans lalich.
I felt like I was in Malibu at a celebrity's house!
We swam in the pool, drank, danced, and just sat memorized at the scene before us. It felt like a movie.
We went to bed everything open to the sea. Falling asleep to the waves crashing below.
One more day in the virgin islands to go...
More to come.
