[Well we were alone...on an island...Naomi and I.

With my cousin back in st Thomas leading her life away from us...sad face...we had to fend for ourselves.

We got kinda a late start after of course going to the beach. We made some sandwiches and ate some chips. My legs and butt are rock hard by this point from going up and down all these stairs.

I'm in heaven...I don't want to leave. Beautiful scenery, a beach, and butt blasting work outs everyday!

We loaded up our backpacks and planned to hike to water lemon cay from maho. Let me say we were rather adventurous this trip!

Well we started up the hill it was hotter than hades so Naomi has the idea that maybe we could have the taxi take us to the end of the road at least.

I think something got lost in translation because we ended up in Cruz bay. No biggie we wanted to do some shopping and check things out anyway. We spent most of the time in mongoose junction and ate at ocean grill where we had some delicious spring rolls and some pork quesadillas and salmon. I loved the atmosphere.

They were also very very informative about how to hike to Solomon and honeymoon beach which was our next adventure! I don't remember the servers name but she does guided hikes down Lind point trail and her and her husband live on st John. She has blonde hair and is fantastic!

Another hike!

We decided to take the mile hike to Solomon beach. You access it behind the visitors center and let me tell you it is a hike! There is a video for this too...

The hike was smooth rocky crazy forested and so fun. The surf kept getting louder and louder until finally you could see the water....this hike was so worth it! We didn't see but one other couple on the trail and on the beach....maybe 2 or 3 people. The water was gorgeous and when a boat would come by it was fun riding the waves.

We snorkeled around and while I was taking a video I came across a sea turtle! It was so beautiful and majestic I felt so special.

We relaxed under that one palm tree on Solomon that didn't quite make it out of the ground...it's low leaves give great shade from the sun.

We had some presidente beers under that tree and then decided to head back into town...

The hike back seemed longer of course but was still nice. The best part was that when we got closer to Cruz bay....a glorious sound of steel drums filled the air. We were in the middle of the woods on a rocky trail and all we could hear was a steel drum band getting louder and louder. It was so surreal....I wish I could do this hike often. I never felt so alive!

Finally we got back to Cruz bay and washed ourselves off and changed. Hmmm....we decided to meet up with the gang we met at the dock the previous night.

We had drinks from high tide and sat on the dock again drinking and hanging out.

Oh! I almost forgot again. Before we left to go to water lemon and ended up at Cruz bay, who should show up at maho other than....Andrea! Although Naomi noticed her first and said who's that girl from the bar! I thought she meant collette from island blues but she meant the girl from la tapas!

Naomi goes running in to the maho gift shop..

"collette Colette!"

...."Andrea.."

Naomi laughed and it was fun running into her again we exchanged numbers.

Back to the current part of the story..

Andrea called us while we were at the dock!

She met up with us and her and Naomi talked for awhile on the cement next to the dock while I walked around talking and being really tipsy haha.

We headed over to woodies to get a bite to eat and then became so sleepy I could have slept right there in that white plastic chair. A woman sold us a Lilly she cut from down the street and we met this surfer dude. There was also a apparently on something old local dancin in the streets to whatever stereo was playing in his head. It was also fun.

Somehow we were able to muster the strength to get to a taxi bus. I think we both fell asleep sitting up in the open air ride.

What a long day!!!

Didn't make it to the beach that night...but I did forget to mention that the night we met Andrea (on dray uh) we went to the beach when we got back to the camp and stood again in the glittering moonlight right out in the bay. We talked about people we met the prospect of moving here and the realization that life is all for these special moments. I could have stood on that need deep crystal clear Caribbean water at midnight for...hours...or days...or who know. It was just the two of us and it was an insane scene and experience.

More to come...
