Hi Everybody. I'm back and wish I was still there.

First Impressions: Honestly I didn't have one. Coming into the airport and then driving into Charlotte Amalie, except for the water, didn't impress me. It was packed, driving was scarey, but on the OH that water! OK, now I'm getting excited.

Day 1: Great flight from Phila to San Juan and then San Juan to St. Thomas. Don't want to bore you here, so I'll get on with it and tell you that we rented from Discount Airlines. They are right near the airport, picked us up and went to the office. The only problem was they didn't have a Jeep Wrangler for us. The instead rented us a Jeep Libery for the same price. We figured out that a Wrangler really wasn't the best for us, because I know what a hassle it is getting the top up and down and how hot they can be....we had one. So, the Liberty was fine. Discount is quick and curteous.

Charlotte Amalie driving is terrible. We had a slight idea where we were going, but you really have to watch what you're doing. Especially when you first get there.

We continued on and stopped at a market near Red Hook. It's pretty big, but we just picked up the basics like mile, orange juce, some fruit, coke and beer. Amazed at the reasonally price of beer $23.00 for a case of Michelob Ultra. Not bad, since I pay 19.00 here. There's really no ryhme or reason to the prices here. The beer is cheep, the lb. of bacon is almost 7.00. Milk, eggs and basics are not bad at all.

We got to our condo right away because we wanted to get out and eat something. We were starving. We didn't even unpack, except for the food and headed straight out to Duffy's Love Shack....more on that later.....lol In red hook, we found that the best parking is the underground garage right across the street from Duffy's. We always found a place.

Duffy's was good. A bushwacker, husband a beer. Nice, fun bartenders. I had a taco bowl with mahi maho and husband had a Jerk Chicken sandwich....mmmmmm, hit the spot. By the way...about 9:30-10:00 at night there's alot of fun at Duffy's and there's alot of dancing. We had a good time, but were tired, so we went back to the condo and sat out on the patio for awhile..

DAY 2: Breakfast at home around 6:30 and pack up for some beach time. First beach Magens.....gorgeous...clear water. Chargle of $3.00 per person. Worth it. Everyone should make it a point of getting to this beach and spending some time. There's alot of shade so take advantage of it (SPF 30 or more) Especially the first few days.

Off to Coki.....this beach is smaller and it's next to Coral World. Excellent snorkeling. We were just blown away by it. They feed the fish here, so there are many of them. Some people may be put off by the amount of islanders that are here selling their things, but we didn't have any problem and it was well worth it.

Back to Red Hook. Husband was dying for some burritos at Burrito Place across from Duffy's. He had a nice plate of rice, beans and a Burrito and I had a soft chicken taco. He loved his, I didn't like mine. The chicken was a little strange.

After snorkeling, we were pretty beat, so we went to the pool and then took a nap. Got up, got a shower and headed over to St. John for some shopping and dinner. I loved St. John. If anybody knows what I'm' talking about...it's the Captiva of Sanibel Island in Florida. It's quait, very cute and is really hopping. The Ferry cost $10.00 round trip PP. It says $3.00 on the sign, $4.00 on the ticket BUT it really is 5.00 each way. Go figure.

We ate at the Banana Tree. I really like that place. Great waiters, really nice. A few cats trying to be really cute for a treat from you. I love cats, but again, some people may be turned off by that. But, I guess you better like cats, because they're all over.

DAY 3: Car ferry to St. John.....OH BOY. NEVER again. I was scared to death and I didn't feel real good. For our Libery it was $40.00 round trip. The seas were really rolling and the boat itself just doesn't look safe to me and to top it off..the water was coming over the front. I think I would have just left the car in St. Thomas and rented one over on St. John. They're available as soon as you get off the people Ferry.

More on Day 3 and alot of other things....I have ALOT to do today, like wash and everything put away....

Bottom line is we had a ball....loved it.

We stayed at a private condo at Sapphire Village, not the Beach Resort, but we were able to use their pools, beach, chairs and so on.

Beautiful location, beautiful snorkeling.
