Honeymoon day Two

This will be my last diary type post – I will post info on our favorite daysail, restaurants and beaches.

The next morning we slept in and were mesmerized by the view from our balcony. My husband (that has a ring to it) made us some coffee and we sat out on the balcony while planning our day. It’s hard to describe the color of the water. I keep waiting to see Brook Shields come around the corner in a scene from “Blue Lagoon”.

We walked down to the pool to catch the shuttle and met my favorite person at the hotel – His name is Danny and he is the pool concierge. Whatever you need – ask Danny! He is the nicest person and will bend over backwards to make your trip memorable. Next to Danny’s “office” is the extremely hot spa and the hangout of some of the many iguanas. I instantly fell in love with them – they are sooooo interesting to watch. Anyway, I could have stayed there all day to stalk the iguanas.

We got in our jeep and headed for Havensight for some sightseeing. We missed breakfast so we headed to the Delly Deck. We had several meals there and enjoyed each and every one. The rest of the day we drove around Red Hook & Havensight. My husband loved the steep roads, big difference from South Texas. The scenery was breathtaking.

When we got back to our hotel we changed into our suits and went down to the beach. The Wyndham isn’t famous for their beach but the water is still refreshing. There are plenty of chairs and water sports. The beach is rocky so you might want to wear swimming shoes – we didn’t, although if you have tender feet it would probably be a good idea. After taking a dip we rinsed off and made our way to the pool. I went to the bar at the Manor House and got the best Bushwhacker from Ki – my favorite bartender. We relaxed in the pool and enjoyed our drinks for a bit then decided to try out the hot tub. The hot tub was too hot and we didn’t chance using it. Of course we looked for the iguanas!! Late in the afternoon they are perched in the bushes and can even be seen high in the palm trees. Too cool!!!

We took the steps up to our room – whoa!!! Thank goodness we had that Bushwhacker. Let’s just say that the steps can be a challenge.

For dinner we chose to try “Off the hook” in Red Hook. It’s close by and needless to say we were still drained from the Wedding. Off the Hook is an open-air restaurant and their prices are moderate. My husband had their seafood skewer and I had the Pasta in a pesto sauce. It was delicious!! The portions are a bit small but we enjoyed our meal. We also enjoyed looking at the yachts right outside their back door. Take some time and walk down to the pier. We ran in to a few locals and they were all very cordial.

After dinner we went back to the hotel and had a drink in the casino. My Bushwhacker wasn’t as good as the one down at the Manor House but still hit the spot. I tried my luck with a couple of the games – lets just say it’s not Vegas. Just keep in mind that St. Thomas isn’t known for their gambling. I suppose you can hit the jackpot, but why spend all your time inside?? Enough said

We dubbed our first full day a success and went back to our room to do what most newly weds do on their honeymoon. SLEEP OF COURSE!!! LOL

Jennifer: The gaming room at Sugar Bay is not a casino- it is a video lottery parlor. VLTs are particularly addictive and have very poor odds. I hope you didn't lose too much there!

It sounds like you had a great time so far!

My bad!!! I knew 'Casino" was the wrong choice of word. I didnt play that much - too much blue water to see.
