We arrived home in Phila last night at 2:00A.M., but more on that later. Have alot of things to do today, so I'll just do Day 1.

Just myself and my husband. This is our third trip staying on STT and again, another really good time.

DAY 1...Believe it or not!!! Got to STT with a a very short lay over in Puerto Rico. Just stopped at the local bar in the airport, had a couple beers and a cuba split between the 2 of us.

Everything seemed to be going really well. Flight on time, bags right out, a free small cup of rum punch on the way to the Budget rental car desk. Fast service, although we did agree to upgrade to a jeep wrangler. We were going to go over to STJ and out to Coral bay. More on that later. After getting the car, you walk across and up one flight of stairs to find your jeep. Not a problem doing that at all, but the jeep had to back windows, only 7500 miles on, but excuse my french...a piece of crap. I can't believe the beatings these cars take. It even needed new tired, but I guess that's due to the roads on STT. Also, at some point in the week a cat must of sprayed somewhere in the jeep. Couldn't really locate it, but it definetly was there. We tried to switch the car out at Sapphire Beach, but they agent there kept on saying that they had none to switch....we just went with it, kept the windows and top down and we were fine.

Just wanted to put this in here, but right near the car rental part of the airport is a very small store, so if you want to pick up some cigarettes 19.95 a carton, or some liquor, this is a place to pick up a couple things. The people in there told me that if we wanted anything on our way out of STT, that we could call them direct, they would put it together for us to pick up on our way back. Nice option.

We rented a unit on the 2nd floor, on the beach....WOW......what a view. They condo was so worth it. It was 630.00 for the week and everything was cleaned, although the furniture a little dated. No big dig, with that deal, who cares. The beach is well cared for at Sapphire. I know alot of people have had problems, but we have stayed there twice and we were lucky.

Our friends son and wife recently moved to STT and rent at Sapphire Village. We weren't even in the room yet and Gibby called me and said he was at Sapphire Beach Bar. Met him down there, had a drink with him and then went back to the room to get settled in. The Grapeville Grille at Sapphire is also open, so we opted to run up there and meet all his friends that work there, or on STJ or STT. What a great group of people. Throughout the week we ended up hanging out with them alot. Grapevine has 2 happy hours. One between 4-6 and one between 7-9. 1/2 price drinks and 1/2 price appetizers. They also have full dinners each nights and a whole list of pizzas that are very good. Sapphire looks like they're trying to come back now. They have both beach bars open, the Grapevine Grill, the watersports center on the beach, delivery from the Grapevine up till 12 midnight and I can't say enough about how nice the people are there.

Anyway.....I'll continue with Day 2 asap. So much to put away and I'm trying to get back into the grove of being home....although my own bed felt REAL good last night :o)

Connie: Just so folks know: Grapevine Grille has been open through all the tribulations of the beach group. They do have great pizza and a beautiful bar.

Ah, yes, it used to be Restaurant Azure, and before that the Oasis. It is a great location by the pool...I'm looking forward to the rest of the story!
