Thought people might like to see some of the shots from my recent kayaking/camping trip in the VI, as well some shots of Cruz Bay, Concordia Studios, beaches and snorkeling. They're at this link:

Enjoy!
That was absolutely amazing!! Thank you so much for sharing your pictures, and your trip, with us!!
My pleasure!
Beth,
Thanks so much for sharing. Looks like you had a great camera setup (underwater and dry). We were just on the sland for a week a month ago and our pics did not turn as well as yours. We visited many of the same places and had a blast. My 4th trip down in 3 years. Thanks again.
Great pix and thanks for sharing! Just out of curiosity, how do you manage to snorkel a place like the Indians out of a kayak? I have trouble enough with all my gear when I am on a fairly large boat, with the waves rocking it and all.
Looks like you had an amazing time! Again, thanks for sharing.

Jamie, I have a Canon digital camera with an underwater housing made especially for the camera. The housing allows me to access all the camera controls. This is the first time I've snorkeled with it, and I must say I was very happy with the results. The housing cost as much as the camera, but turns out it was worth it. I kept the camera in the housing the whole time I was kayaking/camping to protect it from sand as well as water. Worked great.
Bert, re: snorkeling at The Islands, we beached the kayaks on nearby Norman Island and swam out to The Islands. A couple of us wore our kayaking pfds (personal flotation devices) to give us extra confidence, because it is kind of a long swim out to the rocks.
Beth - have you tried tweaking the UW shots with software?
I did with the UW shots I took in April in St. John with my Canon Powershot and got good results, often with just the "auto fix" button of basic photo software, OR if you download Picasa from Google, their "warmify" button helps re-balance the colors and tone down the blues. Very easy to do.
Here are some examples:
Great photos!! Looks like your trip was a really nice one. You got some really great underwater shots. That one blurry parrot fish looks like he's smiling and has big white teeth. 😉 Thanks for sharing. The pics of Leinster make me happy..we were there back in April.
jmq...wow! how awesome!!!
Awesome pictures! The perfect compliment to your trip report. Thanks for sharing!
Ditto the many "great pictures" response. The only thing missing is YOU! Always nice to put a face with a name on this board...
You should have had someone take a pic of you in paradise, or maybe you just didn't include those for public viewing 🙂
jmq, I did tweak them some with photo software, but the results weren't nearly as good as yours.
LandLockedBeachLover, okay, okay, I've added a photo of myself. It's accessible thru the same link. It's the last photo. I'm at Foxy's Taboo, feelin no pain.
There now, that wasn't so bad was it? You look very relaxed! From the looks of your toned stomach, I can tell you did more kayaking and snorkeling that partaking of painkillers!
Wow. excellent. Thnank you for the picture show.
Awesome pictures! Your shots of Concordia brought back memories - we spent our honeymoon in the same studio (#2 I believe). I don't remember it being buggy, but that can change from year to year. Thanks for the flash back 🙂
Hi can you tell me what camera you used to take those pictures?
My camera is a digital Canon A95, with the special underwater housing that is made for the camera.
Thank you! Those were very nice pictures.
Where did you have you housing made?
Thanks, Ann! Bryan, I purchased the housing (online, I might add). Certain cameras have underwater housings available as a separate accessory you can buy.
