Hi,

Looking forward to visit US VI this December as I have heard so many good things about it.
Trip would be with my wife and toddler

It seems that I am booking late already as many accomodations are full.
I can have a free flight (awards) from 23rd dec to 2nd jan.
Only available airport is StCroix.

I am wondering couple things:
- Where is the best place to Stay; some friends recommend me St John; if so what is the best way to get from St Croix to ST John?
- As duration is fairly long; I would be thinking about staying 2 places; any suggestions?
- Lastly any pointers on accomodations for that period and duration (yeah I know worst time !!) that won't leave us broke 🙂

Thanks in advance

Alex

The best way from St. Croix to St. John is to fly from St. Croix to St. Thomas and take a ferry from St. Thomas to St. John. If you're going to be flying to STX anyway, and have no choice, why not spend some time in St. Croix and spend some time in St. John?

Probably end up doing that. Or spend some time in St John & St thomas (since I have to go through St Thomas).

Any good web sites to find accodomodations or any accomodations that you recommend?

Thanks,

Alexis

Hello Alex,

Your "island hopping" between St. Croix to get to St. John for two adults is going to mean (airfare from airport STX to STT... maybe around $100-$125 each roundtrip OR taxi to Seaplane or Ferry plus around $60-$100 roundtrip and then on St. Thomas you have to get a ferry ticket and/or a taxi ride and ferry.... in otherwords this is not an inexpensive "hop"... also it will be affected by the time of your arrival on St. Croix - whether the transportation you are using to commute have scheduled departures that will accomodate you).

You might get a guide book/material about the USVI and see which island interest you and which you want to stay on. With the route you are taking you might just spend a few days on each of three islands!! You can check out some books at www.vitraders.com under Planning in the navigation.
