Hi everybody!
I´m planning a visit to the USVI, starting with St. Thomas in just 10 days. It´s a kind of last minute decission. Allthough I was there once, by that time I was a cruise passenger and learned almost nothing abouth the island the glimps I got (Magens Bay beach) was enough to keep my interest in getting there again alive. I also think that it may be difficult, specially for somebody arriving from the very south end from South America to get settled down with nothing organized in advance.
I read with interest this forum and noticed there are "friends" outhere willing to share their experience and to give an advice.
I'm travelling with a friend. We have planned 3 weeks not only to visit St. Thomas, but other USVI and may be reaching to the BVI. We are interested in relaxing and sunbathing but also watersports activities, exploring around and of course there should be music and nighlife entertainment. As 3 weeks is a quite long time (depending on the the optics), it is when you considere lodging costs. I´d appreciate some advice on this as well as places / islands to visit, how to get there, etc., etc.
Are there anything like a small cozy familiar hotel in a nice tranquil location?
We are eagger to get as much info as we can and would really appreciate any suggestions, comments, ideas, etc. that you may make.
Thank you very much
Carlos
You can visit St. Thomas for a couple days, take the ferry to St. John and to St. Croix. In fact pick St. Thomas as your base and then ferry to St. Croix and back to St. Thomas. Then to St. John ... you should go over to Virgin Gorda and Tortola in the BVI's - also by ferry. On St. Thomas and St. Croix there are a few bed and breakfast type places... St. John is a bit more difficult - there are two resorts and they are pricey - you could camp if you wanted to - St. John is known for it's camping and hiking and National Park. Nightlife you can get in St. Thomas... St. John and St. Croix to a lesser extent - however they have their own type of fun. 3 weeks will give you plenty of time to appreciate the islands.
