We will be staying in Grand Mal, St. George, Grenada from Dec 31-Jan 5. I have no idea what to expect because this is my first time going. My 3 year old has a severe treenut and peanut allergy (though coconut is fine).
Does anyone know where the closest hospital is or have advice about using doctors there? (Just in case he has an allergic reaction).
Recommendations for restaurants or stores that sell nut-free items? Any other experiences traveling with nut allergies to make me feel less nervous?
Thank you, Lindsay
This is a United States Virgin Islands forum and Grenada isn't in the USVI! Suggest you go onto the Grenada forum on Trip Advisor where I'm sure someone will give you the information if it's not included in the general information TA provides. Enjoy your vacation!
You could also contact the concierge at the hotel in Grenada and ask those questions and alert them in advance of your son's allergy.
Do you travel with an epipen?
May be a good idea to consult your doctor prior to departure.
I've had guests on charters that have had nut allergies and it's pretty serious if a reaction occurs and constricts the airway. We had to be very careful as to what ingredients were used in food prep, both on boat and when dining out. Good luck to you. Hope your vacation is wonderful!
