*I've been searching for information regarding ferry service between St. Thomas and St. John and am a bit confused. Are there several different ferry companies that service downtown to Cruz Bay? Each web site I look at has different ticket fees. They seem to range anywhere from $7 to $11.50 each way. Do they all leave from the downtown waterfront? Can you clarify.
Also, is there bus service from the Airport to the downtown waterfront were I can catch a ferry?
Thanks for any input/recommendations you may have.
Steve
At the very top of this board there is a spot to click on that says Ferry Schedules. There are several companies that run ferries between St. Thomas and St. John listed. You can get a passenger ferry from downtown Charlotte Amalie or from the east end of the island in Red Hook. There are also car ferries that leave from Red Hook. The ferry fees have been going up a little with "temporary price increases" because of gas prices.
Steve,
It's $5 per person each way between Red Hook and Cruz Bay, $11.50 per person each way between Charlotte Amalie and Cruz Bay. Bags cost extra. The ferry schedule between Charlotte Amalie (downtown) and Cruz Bay is more limited than the schedule between Red Hook and Cruz Bay so most people travel to and from St. John via Red Hook. The ferry schedules are available on the "Ferry Schedule" link at the top of this page. If you have specific questions, the ferry companies can be reached at: Transportation Services (340)776-6282 and Varlack Ventures (340)776-6412.
