Can someone tell me about how long it takes to drive from Red Hook to the airport. Trying to figure out how early of a flight we an catch after taking the car barge and driving to the airport.

Thanks

Taxi takes 30 - 45 minutes depending on time of day (traffic, like anywhere else). If you are trying to hit a relatively tight schedule, it is best to arrange 'private' ride rather than wait for van to fill up.

Thanks

We may have to catch an 8:30 flight. I'm thinking that we may have to spend the last night in St. Thomas. Anyone know if there are any good places to stay for one night?

Dale,

We stayed at the Best Western Emerald Beach Hotel for one night on our last trip. I would not want to stay their as my vacation destination, but for one night it was pretty decent. All rooms have a beachfront balcony, refridgerator, etc. There is a restaurant, bar, pool and is 5 minutes from the airport. You can't beat the price for what you get. Check out the hotel's website.

I usually stay the first and last night of vacation to St john in St thomas, stayed at Best Western right next to airport last year and it got the job done and was only about 110.00 per night, although tried to book for this year for end of Jan 2005 and prices had gone up to around 140.00, ended booking Holiday inn in Charlotte Amalie for 125.00 per night right across from fast ferry to St John and within walking distance to downtown shops
