I am a Romanian citizen, residing in the US and awaiting my green card.
I was advised not to leave the US until I receive my green card.
Is the USVI considered US land ? Will I be considered as if I have left the US, if I come to your island for vacation ?
I do not want to have problems upon my return to the main land.
I traveled to Hawaii and did not encounter any problems, but Hawaii is a US state and thought that perhaps the USVI are different since they are not a US state.

Thank You....

You should check this with your local Immigration office. If they tell you it is okay to travel, make sure you get a list of appropriate documents and the name of the individual that approved such travel.
I had a similar issue before 911 and things have gotten much stricter now. Of course, the worst that could happen is you would not be able to leave USVI and that's not too bad!!

I would recommend getting in touch with the Immigration Office that is HERE, as they are their own little entity here. Even though they are supposed to be the same as all of the immigration offices in the States, they have a little West Indian flair to them. Call them at 340-774-1390 or 340-774-2378 or 800-375-5283 ( this last one is the National Customer Service Center, so I don't know if they are on island or not).
