Two of us are arriving in St. Thomas at 4:15 pm on Sunday 01/13. I would like information regarding travel to Virgin Gorda later that afternoon. On Saturday 01/19, we have a Flight out of St Thomas at 3:35 pm -- so we need to travel from Virgin Gorda that morning (01/19). I found some expensive flights that will work on Air Sunshine ($500 for two -round trip). Does anyone know another way to go round trip from St. Thomas to Virgin Gorda, like a Ferry or "Water Taxi" for example?

Thanks in advance for any information you might have... Dennis

i went on Speedy's Delight (a public ferry - but fast) last February. It only goes on certain days of the week and is out of Charlotte Amalie. It took us non-stop from STT to VG in 1 hr and 15 mins in the morning- and back later that afternoon. $60 round tip and adult and $40 round trip for child. You could sit inside below on outside on the top deck.

Google Speedys Ferries and see what days it goes - also call them since the websites are not always updated.

Here is a very detailed account of our journey that day, if it helps.

Go to "ferry schedule" under Quick Links top right of this page. According to this schedule, the only later ferry to VG only runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5PM from the waterfront. You could try Dohm's Water Taxi (www.virginislandswatertaxi.com) or Dolphin (www.dolphinshuttle.com) but might also consider staying overnight on STT.
