*We are flying to St. Thomas and staying at the Westin in St. John. Which do we do - take the ferry from Charlotte Amalie or Red Hook? It looks cheaper to go to Red Hook. How much is the taxi from airport to ferry? Who would you recommend I call for taxi?

Linda, did you opt for the ferry package from the Westin?
The Westin has it's own ferry. They usually include this into their packages. If you use their ferry, after retrieving your luggage go to the Westin counter at the airport (It's right there in the baggage claim area). They will check you in to the hotel, take your bags, arrange for and put you into transportation to their ferry at Crown Point marina, transport you directly to the ferry dock at the Westin and deliver you and your luggage to your room. Also, you may ride this ferry to/from St Thomas as much as you desire.
If you did not purchase the ferry package see the taxi rates in the getting around link on the home page. Remember to include a dollar per bag into the rate.
Have fun!

Hello Linda,

Frequent Visitors advice is right on... definately look into the Westin Ferry arrangement.

If not then visit

https://www.vinow.com/general_usvi/cruiseship/cruiseguide_page1.php

go to the bottom of the page it describes both ferries and compares them - the taxi rate is from the cruise ship dock as this section is for cruise passengers.

The airport - CA charge is - $4 each person plus charges for luggage
Airport to Red Hook is - $8 per person plus luggage charges
then you have the st. john taxi to westin - about $4 a person.

More on taxis go to

Have a great time.
